Munich/London, June 12, 2023 – cleversoft announced today that it has entered a strategic partnership with Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (“LLCP”) through a capital investment that will further support and accelerate management’s strategic growth plan and new product development. Florian Clever, Founder and CEO, and the existing management team remain significant owners of the business and continue to lead the group’s future growth.
Founded in 2004, cleversoft is a leading pan-European provider of mission-critical regulatory software solutions to the financial services industry. The company helps more than 100 banks, asset managers, and insurers to efficiently navigate the ever-changing regulatory environment and ensure compliance. Headquartered in Munich, cleversoft has more than 170 employees with additional offices in the Netherlands, Bulgaria, and Luxembourg.
cleversoft has grown dynamically in recent years, including through the takeover of the RegTech providers SecondFloor in 2019, BusinessForensics in 2020 and CDDS in July 2021. Through the successful integration of these three companies, the cleversoft group was able to significantly expand its expertise in the areas of regulatory reporting and prevention of financial crime.
These acquisitions were also made possible through a five-year partnership with the private equity firm Main Capital Partners. Through new capital investment, LLCP will now help to accelerate cleversoft’s future growth.
Together with LLCP cleversoft will accelerate its RegTech service offering globally, specifically by leveraging LLCPs broad reach in the U.S. and Europe with acquisitions in new geographies and regulatory verticals.
Florian Clever, CEO and Founder of cleversoft, commented, “We explicitly thank Main Capital Partners for their excellent cooperation and support in the rapid implementation of our jointly defined growth strategy. In just 5 years, we have accelerated our growth to become a strong, market-leading suite of software solutions for the increasing regulatory and compliance needs of the world’s largest financial institutions. Our new partnership with LLCP is the next significant step in the growth of cleversoft. The investment will provide our company with the resources and support necessary to fuel our future ambitions and consolidate our position as a global leader in the RegTech industry. We look forward to collaborating with the LLCP team to build on cleversoft’s considerable momentum.”
Josh Kaufman, Head of Europe at LLCP, concluded, “cleversoft was early to recognize the rising regulatory and compliance needs of the world’s largest financial institutions, and successfully built a market-leading suite of software solutions to address these complex demands. We are excited leverage our broad European and U.S. resources to support cleversoft’s expansion plans and together solidify its industry leadership.”
